MISSOULA, Mont. - For countless generations, the water that flows through Missoula, Montana has been the lifeblood. The Native Americans have traveled up and down these waters for millennia. Countless poets and authors have tried to capture its spiritual essence. Even Lewis and Clark explored the waters hundreds of years ago. Still to this day, the Clark Fork River means so much to so many.

"There is a there's a calming presence of rivers," says Clark Fork Coalition Executive Director Brian Chaffin. "I heard the other day that rivers meditate us, as opposed to the other way around us, meditating on rivers. Rivers actually put us in that meditative state."
