GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Acting U.S. Attorney Mark Steger Smith announced that a Great Falls man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after investigators found large amounts of methamphetamine in his home and later in a car he was riding in.
Cody Allen Davidson, 39, pleaded guilty in April 2026 to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He also received five years of supervised release.
According to court documents, investigators said Davidson and his partner, Diane Walters, had been trafficking methamphetamine. Searches of Davidson’s home and car turned up a gun safe that held about 30 pounds of meth, four guns and $21,479 in cash, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a release.
The investigation started in May 2025 after a source told the DEA that Davidson had recently received more methamphetamine and was keeping it at his Great Falls home. Officers got a warrant and searched the house.
Investigators reported that Davidson told authorities the cash came from selling about 7 pounds of meth. He also said he had been trafficking meth for the past six to eight months.
The case continued on July 10, 2025, when Davidson’s car was seen traveling north of Las Vegas. Law enforcement suspected he was making a drug resupply trip and sent out an alert for the vehicle.
On July 11, 2025, officers in Idaho Falls, Idaho, stopped the car. Walters was driving and Davidson was riding as a passenger, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Officers found about 25 pounds of meth hidden in the car, the U.S. Attorney’s Office added.
