The Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yellowstone County’s annual conference will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mansfield Center at Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings.
This year’s theme is "Beyond Stigma: A Future of Hope and Healing" and aims to unite community members, professionals, advocates and partners who are committed to preventing suicide and supporting mental wellness throughout the region.
The coalition is dedicated to preventing suicide by providing culturally sensitive education, increasing public awareness and fostering access to resources for anyone experiencing hopelessness. This annual conference offers an opportunity to learn from experts, connect with others who share this important mission, and gain practical tools to strengthen suicide prevention efforts within Yellowstone County communities.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers, Dr. Holly Wilcox, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Suicide Prevention, and Matt Kuntz, the executive director of NAMI Montana. Other presentations will cover topics including community health, education, prevention and clinical practice.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Registration is $50, with scholarships available for those who need financial assistance. There will be a reception after the conference from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.Â
