Both candidates for Missoula County Justice Court's Department 2 position bring a long career in the criminal justice system, experience working with offenders and a cautious approach to jail as a pretrial tool. But while incumbent Landee Holloway brings 10 years on the bench to the table, challenger Kelli Sather says her law degree and experience as a practicing lawyer are a more valuable asset to Missoula County's misdemeanor court.

The two justice of the peace hopefuls appeared at a City Club Missoula forum hosted by the League of Women Voters on Monday to present their platforms and answer audience questions ahead of the November general election.
