After weeks of hesitancy in saying Butte-Silver Bow County would for sure get a multi-million-dollar grant to build a recreation and wellness center in Butte, federal and local officials deemed it a done deal Friday.

“That certainty and confirmation is today,” J.P. Gallagher, Butte-Silver Bow’s chief executive, said at a ceremony in the Butte Civic Center lobby to announce the grant. “We received the document to accept the award this morning at about 8 o’clock.”
