A real estate company has listed a 132-acre vacant piece of land near Lost Trail Pass for sale for $1.9 million.
The company, called Fay Ranches, is calling the piece of property "Lost Trail Ski Hill Retreat," even though it doesn't have anything to do with Lost Trail Powder Mountain other than proximity.
The property is 4 miles from the legendary ski area.
John Anderson, a broker with Fay Ranches, mentioned how close the land is to the ski hill in his listing.
"Lost Trail Ski Hill Retreat is located approximately 4 miles from Lost Trail Ski Area, offering exceptional access to skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, hiking, fishing, hunting, and year-round outdoor recreation in one of Montana’s most scenic mountain landscapes," the listing said. "This 132-acre property stretches along Joseph Creek, where Cabinet, Joseph, and Shoofly Creek converge to form the renowned Trail Creek fishery. Trail Creek is a hidden gem for fly anglers, offering pristine waters, excellent fishing, and true wilderness solitude."
The company's social media account had people comment "Lost Trail Ski Hill" in order to get a full listing emailed.Â
Some people on social media appeared to think that the ski area itself was for sale, which is definitely not the case.
"Lost Trail Ski Hill Retreat sits about 14 miles from Wisdom, an hour from Hamilton, Montana, and just a short drive from Jackson Hot Springs," the listing continues. "History runs deep here. Lewis and Clark passed through this mountain pass on their expedition to the Pacific, and the route is now marked with interpretive signs and historic sites maintained by the U.S. Forest Service. Scenic Highway 93 also offers campgrounds and trailheads along the way, making the drive an experience in itself."
