Racers gather at the Fairy Lake trailhead, the start line of the 2026 Bridger Ridge Race.

A crowd of volunteers, parents, friends, and supporters gathered at the fields of the Bozeman Fish Technology Center, where rainbow-colored pennant flags, kiddie pools filled with ice, and fresh-cut fruit and sandwiches awaited finishers of the 40th Ed Anacker Bridger Ridge Run on Saturday.

The ringing of cowbells and clapping first erupted at 9:54 a.m. as Nate Marshall came tearing down the final stretch of the nearly 20-mile race. With a time of three hours, 24 minutes and 10 seconds, Nate took the first-place finish for the second year in a row.
