Soccer Field Heat Maps

BOZEMAN, Mont. — With the World Cup making headlines, a Yellowstone scientist is saying that technology researchers use to understand the park's geothermal areas is similar to visual tracking that helps explain soccer movement. 

Greg Vaughan is a research scientist with the USGS's Yellowstone Volcano Observatory. He helps monitor geological activity in the park. One tool scientists use is heat maps.
