SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. - A Schuylkill County man will serve up to 16 years in prison for possessing dozens of child sexual abuse material files (CSAM), Attorney General Dave Sunday says.
According to a news release, Office of Attorney General agents responded to a tip that an IP address associated with Troutman was uploading CSAM.
Upon serving a search warrant at Troutman’s Schuylkill Haven home in 2024, agents found more than 50 files of CSAM, most depicting very young children, the release says.
58-year-old Robert Troutman pleaded guilty this week to felony counts of sexual abuse of children, attorneys say.
According to attorneys, Troutman was sentenced to eight to 16 years in prison. Additionally, upon release, Troutman will be registered as a sex offender for 15 years, according to a Schuylkill County judge.
“This significant prison sentence considers the defendant’s conduct for what it is — exploitation and abuse of children,” Attorney General Sunday said.
“Our Child Predator Section is committed to finding offenders online and putting a stop to their targeting of kids,” Sunday added.
