HARRISON COUNTY, Texas — Long before it became one of Texas' most treasured outdoor destinations, Caddo Lake State Park was little more than a vision shared by state leaders and a wealthy East Texas family.

Nearly a century later, the park stands as a lasting reminder of how one of America's most ambitious New Deal programs transformed both the landscape and the lives of millions.
