Ouster, Inc.OUST acquired Stereolabs SAS in February 2026, strengthening its position in the rapidly expanding Physical AI and robotics markets by combining lidar, cameras, AI compute and perception software into an integrated sensing platform.
The acquisition is already delivering strategic benefits. Stereolabs’ ZED X Nano became the most successful product launch in the company’s history, expanding Ouster’s presence across industrial and robotics applications and helping secure new customer opportunities that require smaller sensing form factors. The product has generated particularly strong interest from the rapidly expanding humanoid robotics and robotic manipulation markets, including applications involving wrist-mounted sensing on robotic and humanoid arms.
Ouster is also benefiting from significant cross-selling opportunities between the two businesses. Industrial and heavy-equipment customers already purchasing Stereolabs cameras are increasingly exploring Ouster’s lidar and safety-lidar solutions. Similarly, existing Ouster customers that previously sourced cameras from other suppliers are now considering Stereolabs products, as customers increasingly prefer to obtain multiple sensing technologies from a single trusted provider.
With Stereolabs’ business expected to grow at least 40% year over year at the midpoint in 2026, Ouster is also adding manufacturing capacity to support demand through 2027 and beyond. If robotics adoption continues to accelerate, Stereolabs could become an increasingly important growth driver for Ouster’s Physical AI strategy. OUST currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).
Hesai GroupHSAI introduced Kosmo, an AI-integrated spatial intelligence device designed to address the growing scarcity of high-fidelity spatial data for Physical AI. Hesai views Kosmo as the starting point of a scalable business model spanning hardware, AI software, spatial data and platform services, representing a significant expansion opportunity. Demo shipments are expected to begin soon, with initial 8-digit revenues anticipated in 2026. Hesai believes Kosmo can become a meaningful Physical AI growth driver, supported by engagement with leading robotics, technology and entertainment companies.
NVIDIA CorporationNVDA continues to build a longer-duration growth option in robotics and other physical AI applications. In robotics, NVIDIA pointed to adoption across industrial, surgical and humanoid applications that are developing and deploying at scale. While still smaller than the Data Center, these programs can compound as production volumes and software content rise for NVIDIA.
