BOSSIER CITY, La. — A quiet Bossier City neighborhood may soon hear the crack of a bat after the City Council unanimously cleared the way for a major new baseball training facility.
The Bossier City Council voted Tuesday afternoon to greenlight a zoning change for 48 acres of land located at the northwest corner of Tipton and Nina streets. The property is transitioning from residential to general business to accommodate a proposed baseball complex that will include indoor batting cages.
To protect the surrounding neighborhood, council members established strict safeguards within the approved plan. Because the facility is located within 300 feet of residentially zoned property, it will be subject to limited hours of operation. Additionally, commercial signage will only be permitted on the front of the building facing East Texas Street.
City officials said they went the extra mile to ensure residents were aware of the proposal, mailing notification letters to nearby neighbors and posting signs on the property.
