HELENA, Mont. – Every passenger that boards a flight leaving the Helena Regional Airport on the Fourth of July will receive a printed copy of the Declaration of Independence, Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen announced on Friday.
The distribution was described as an effort to strengthen civic education, in addition to the thousands of copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence that Jacobsen has reportedly provided for teachers, organizations, and community members across Montana in 2026.
“It’s my honor to provide a copy of our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to the passengers departing our Capital City,” Jacobsen said. “These documents are the foundation of our rights and responsibilities as United States citizens, and there’s no better day to highlight their importance than on our nation’s 250th birthday.”
For any Montanans who are not taking a flight out of Helena on Saturday, the secretary of state’s office noted that printed copies of the Constitution can be requested by emailing soscommunications@mt.gov.
