(The Center Square) — The Trump administration is backing away from plans to convert a New Jersey warehouse into a 1,500-bed ICE detention center, according to a federal court filing.

Lawyers for the Department of Homeland Security said in the filing that the federal agency won't be moving ahead with plans to transform a 470,000-square-foot warehouse in the Township of Roxbury into a 1,500-bed detention center for immigrants awaiting deportation proceedings.
