TOWANDA, PA (WENY) — An Ulster man will serve a minimum sentence of 27-years in prison after he was sentenced Thursday.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney, 47-year-old Jesse Gallagher could spend up to 63-years in prison as part of the maximum sentence. Gallagher was convicted earlier this year on two counts of attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, two counts of attempted statutory sexual assault, and one count of corruption of minors. He sexually abused the victim in 2024 and was convicted by a jury in January 2026.
During the trial, a licensed psychologist said Gallagher met the criteria to be classified as a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law.
The DA’s office said Gallagher was on parole when the abuse happened, and if he’s ever granted parole again — he will be required to register as a sex offender and sexually violent predator for the rest of his life.
