Firefighters working the Sand Creek and Bobcat Lakes fires in southwest Montana are preparing for increased fire behavior this week, with erratic afternoon weather forecast on Tuesday.

Cooler weather and precipitation have aided firefighters on the Sand Creek and Bobcat Lakes fires, allowing some evacuees to return home. FEMA announced it will help pay for firefighting costs. 

The team coordinating firefighting on the Sand Creek and Bobcat Lakes fires described the 'fire fight' that unfolded Tuesday as firefighters worked to save Maverick Mountain and Elkhorn Hot Springs.
