TELUS Corporation TU has reset its dividend as part of a broader effort to rebuild financial flexibility and reduce leverage. The move lowers near-term shareholder income but allows the company to retain substantially more cash for debt reduction.

That trade-off has become more important after TELUS lowered its 2026 free cash flow outlook and pushed its leverage target out by a year. The path now depends on disciplined spending, asset monetization and stronger cash generation through 2028.
