I’ve lived my whole life in Lansing. I’m a father of two, a grandfather of six and I work at an assisted living community. My work is rewarding because it allows me to help older adults maintain their autonomy, dignity and quality of life – I like making that possible for them.

I’ve always believed that if you work hard and pay your bills, you should be able to afford a good life and take care of your family. As our country marks its 250th year, the promise of a good life in exchange for hard work feels increasingly empty.
