The city of Billings has spent months examining its domestic violence response systems after three two-hour long City Council work sessions that started in May and concluded last Wednesday, July 8.

Initiatives kickstarted in the meetings include new procedures for escalating serving of warrants on high-risk individuals, pursuing legislative ways to address gaps in victim protections and a directive to form a committee to continue analyzing systems with recommendations of action to come.
